Life Audit

lifeaudit Hi Sweetie, welcome to my (semi-regular) Life Audit! Now that we are on the brink of the oh so chilly, festive season, I thought now might just be the perfect time to site down and assess where I'm at...  As always do feel free to take both the graphic and Life Audit prompts for a post of your own…

Today I am…

Freezing. Wearing pink thermal socks and a heather thermal vest trimmed in velvet ribbon. Writing a story for a writing competition: my first piece of fiction for many years. Taking photo's of all the presents I have already bought so I can keep my Christmas app updated. And (to the bewildered disdain of my family) rather obsessively watching make up tutorials on YouTube...

Feeling…

Good. Well. And focused. Seeing things as they might be. Freezing (Are you hearing me?? I'm cold!) after catching something of a chill on Saturday night, so severe, one of my knees starting shaking all by itself. A little behind with myself. Excited about the publisher who recently got in touch with me. And ready for the revolution that is a whole new train of thought on the future of BrocanteHome. In it's tenth year, it may be time to shake things up. Be afraid. I am...

Reading…

Living the Good Long Life by Martha Stewart. So yes. All of a sudden I feel well. And though it has taken me all of my life to make the connection between feeling downright dreadful and all the nonsense I am prone to shoveling down, I have indeed made that connection. So here I am. Able to think straight. With my thyroid all balanced and my body no longer permanently trembling it is my very own little bit of wonderful and I no longer need to dedicate all my time to trying to feel normal and can instead concentrate on the business that is life. And the life that is my business. Heavens knows I have lost three years to this mess... and now I want to stay well. Martha then, is the woman to show me how..

Eating…

Granny smith's apples. By the dozen. (This too will pass). Ceaser Salad. Most nights. Because I am a food faddist. And no meat at all. Considering full time vegetarianism all over again, as I was between the ages of twelve and twenty five...

Planning…

On selling all the vintage little bits of loveliness I have got stashed under the bed, to fund Christmas. Getting Blogging the Brocante Way on to Amazon. My very first Christmas dinner. Now there's a little something I am absolutely terrified of doing...

Dreaming of…

Jeannie? ~Finally getting an hour or two to myself to stitch a pretty floral tea-towel cover for the utterly lovely, thoroughly blank, over-sized scrapbook I picked up in T.K.Maxx months ago...

Coveting…

A gorgeous red kimono with pretty tassels that I saw while out shopping in Liverpool, on Saturday.

Wishing…

The housekeeping fairy would come a-calling. I will never, ever, NEVER get used to the fact that tidying the house into sparkly submission does not mean it will stay that way for longer than an hour or three. It's devastating on a daily basis.

Working On…

The Creative Home Spa. (Look out for a special offer coming later today!) - A two day highly detailed timetable for kickstarting your creativity, reviving your soul and awakening your domestic spirit...

Celebrating…

BrocanteHome's birthday. I have been a blogger for longer than most and it is both beautiful and utterly exhausting. I am ready for change, and I think you, my lovely readers, are too.

Grateful For…

Radiators. (Did I mention how bloody cold I am??). Fair-aisle slipper socks. Snuggly, spooky stories to curl up with when the tv is on the blink as it is at the moment. Like this one. How grown up Finley is now. The special smile he reserves for Mark and I. The huuuuge, still in it's packaging, brand new, £1200 bath we have just acquired on Ebay for the grand sum of 99p! Oh yes, thank heavens for Ebay!

And finally tomorrow I will be…

Probably waking up as astonished by my mad dreams as I have been recently. Making this heavenly sounding spiced pea soup. And writing the Things I Would Like For Christmas list, my Mum keeps asking me for...

On my to-do list this month?

* Write a financial survival plan for the next two months... * Get the wall behind Finley's wardrobe finally painted. Though it can't be seen by anybody it bothers me... * Sort out my rather messy handbag situation. Because shamefully, yes, those do seem to be biscuit crumbs at the bottom of my satchel. * Place my Christmas week food shopping order for delivery... * Make the bed-skirt I have been threatening to make for months. Ahem, yes. I STILL haven't done it. * And stock up on snow-fighting salt, shovels and anti-freeze just in case this darn old weather takes an unexpected turn for the worse... *shivers*

Happy November Housekeepers!
