It is half term. Finley is off school and talking ten to the dozen and I am afflicted with both a gum and an ear infection. Richard and I have spent the weekend trawling nursing homes in search of one we can imagine his lovely Dad living out the rest of his days in and from this evening I will lose my broadband connection in preparation for transfer to a more reliable company in the next two or three days. All that and in the last few days I have managed to lose my bank card, smash a much loved crystal bowl and have an ever so silly argument with my bestest friend.
So I do I hope you won’t mind if I go awol for a few days? I suspect, you see, that I need to recharge my batteries. To get myself better. Spend some quality time with Finley and support Rich through what is turning out be something of a heart-wrenching task.
It’s been a while since I had a holiday from the internet and serendipity has arranged it so that just when I need one most I shan’t have access regardless.
And so just until next Tuesday when the countdown to Christmas begins with a vengeance, I am going to take some time out. To visit the Doctor and the Dentist. To take long baths. Read books with my little boy, cook for Richard, and get out into the Autumnal sun to stretch my legs a bit.
You see sometimes I get to feeling a little fuzzy. Sometimes my obsession with both BrocanteHome and the internet per se starts to take over my life and I neglect that which I should cherish: my family and my health. Sometimes I just get to feeling a little exhausted and need time out from this lovely life on-line to re-align my priorities and take a holiday from my own brain.
Would that be alright? Just one week? In the meantime rest assured that Trash It or Treasure It is pre-scheduled and will arrive in your in-boxes as expected. However the Puttery Post will be delayed until I am back on-line on Tuesday the 2nd of November though will of course be included in your end of month downloads, and I will answer any outstanding queries or questions about Brocante, this scrumptious vintage bloggy life or your subscriptions the minute my broadband connection is up and I am back on line.
I love you all to bits and hope arrive back here next Tuesday feeling refreshed, well and ready as always, to help you bring a little old-fashioned joy into your day.
Have a gorgeous week darlings.x
