A Whiff of Windex
Oh dear. I don’t know what to think. You see that bottle Linda Evangelista is holding? It isn’t Windex, it is perfume.
What are we to make of this? Are we to guffaw and ho ho ho and appreciate the irony and sub-contextual post- feminism blah blah blah of pretending to spray ourselves with a domestic cleaner? Get giddy with excitement because we are Housekeepers and here we are having our day in the perfume department? Or cry?
Moschino director Jeremy Scott puts it like this…
“The concept for this fragrance was to juxtapose the most mundane and commonplace of all products, the household cleaner, with something so precious – the juice of a luxury brand’s fragrance. Taking the iconography of a bottle that has no aspirational value and using it as the inspiration for a vessel to contain something so luxurious and haute couture, creates the ultimate dichotomy of high and low. What could be more Moschino than that?”
Which frankly doesn’t help at all.
I told you. I don’t know what to think.
